You need this to power a decent size Gas Generator.

An alternator is limited in output by it's rectifier diodes.  Three 80 amp diodes on one side of the rectifier can pass  240 amps, so six can pass 480 amps and this is limited mostly by the stator being triple or quad wound.  Also continuous heavy load can produce considerable heat.  A CS-144 pulls air from the rear, while a AD-244 or DR-44 blows air from the front but not across the rectifier because it is outside the case.  This design pulls air across the rectifier first and with no rear plastic on the rectifier cools 50 to 75 percent better for greater reliability.  If you really want to go back to stock nothing else internally is changed.

This unit has a stock triple wound stator, and for maximum output use a custom quad wound 240 amp stator

   Subpart F--Exemption of Aftermarket Conversions From Tampering   Prohibition   Sec. 85.503 Conditions of exemption.   (a) As a condition of receiving an enforcement exemption from the  tampering prohibitions contained in section 203 of the Act, an  aftermarket conversion certifier must certify the aftermarket conversion  system, using the applicable procedures in part 86 of this chapter, and  meeting the applicable standards and requirements in Secs. 85.504 and  85.505, and accept liability for in-use performance of the aftermarket  conversion system as outlined in this part.  (b) As a condition of receiving an enforcement exemption from the  tampering prohibitions contained in section 203 of the Act, an  aftermarket conversion installer must:  (1) Install a conversion which has been certified as a new vehicle  or engine, using the applicable procedures in part 86 of this chapter,  and meeting the applicable standards and requirements in Secs. 85.504  and 85.505; and  (2) Accept liability for in-use performance of the aftermarket  conversion system as outlined in this part.


Now here the relevant language above is (b)(2) which requires the manufacturer to "accept liability for in-use performance of the aftermarket conversion system outlined in this part"

That means if we design and build it, we must make sure you use it according to the law and that we can have the power to do so.  The only legal way to do this is to license it, even IF it is CARB exempted by order, and the only way we can be assured our product will not be tampered with after design is to license it only and/or lease it out.

The EPA memo makes clear that only closed loop systems can be now used, and this in conjunction with the manufacturer maintenance provision means we must maintain control over being able to  - and being the only party who can - adjust the ECM which is an after market part and uses our after market part system.  Thus we can only license our systems and lease the items out - not sell them outright.

This is a remanufactured GM type  12 and 4 o'clock stye AD244 style DR44  high amp alternator now with 12 diodes and high amp stator and rotor  - and it requires an EXTERNAL REGULATOR - not included.  It can put out up to 450 amps continuous and can put out 230 amps at idle (650 rpm).  GM never made such a thing - but Penntex industries did for the PX-1000 and 2000 series regulators for heavy duty Truck and Ambulance service.  Theirs had 35 amp diodes and was rated for 200 amps - this unit has 80 amp diodes ALL inside the case so it fits as a stock unit does

This unit has enough amperage output capacity to run a decent sized Hydrogen Generator and the vehicle easily

Amp pass capacity is the values of half of the Diodes added up which is 75 times 6 is 450 amps.  In all likelihood the alternator would likely overheat under continuous load at that load.  Since an in case regulator would burn up fast - an external heavy duty Ford style set at 14.3 volt set point is included with introductions how to wire it.  Available with two wire or four wire regulators, and the internal regulator can be used by simply plugging in two wires.
